My old truck is very dear to
me because my grandaddy gave it to me when I was fifteen years old.
I drove it for two years before I got my new truck. My dad and I
rebuilt the engine in it the summer before my senior year. I had
some really fun and exciting times in that truck and still do occaisionaly.
Yes sir, we have been through a whole lot together and I hope that continues.
Ok so here are the specs on her:
Bought brand new in 1978 she was a F100 custom, tan and brown with matching
interior, bench seat with a three speed transmission in the column (three
on the tree). Underneath the long-wheelbase bed lived a Ford nine
inch rear end and this dream truck of mine was powered by a 300 cubic inch,
or 4.9 liter, inline six cylinder. She had power steering and no
air conditioning, also included in the package was an AM only push button
radio for your listening pleasure. The rims, tires, and wax job that
you see here I added, along with an in-dash compact disc player, floor
shifter, woodgrain steering wheel, two 15" Legacy Subwoofers, a Profile
600 watt California amplifier, and new seat cover.
Today she looks like this the paint job will be here one day, the subwoofers
have been repaced by Jensen 6"x9" 's, and the amplifier was traded in for
$100. She now sits paitenly and devoted in the yard waiting on my
money to roll in and restoration to begin.
